Greetings from sunny Berlin and the Studiorum Novi Testamenti Societas Meeting (SNTS).
We had our opening ceremony two days ago in the Pergamon Museum which houses some of the most exciting artefacts from the Ancient world. The main attraction is the Zeus-Altar from the Greek city of Pergamon. During the opening ceremony we were literally sitting on the steps of this amazing piece which St John refers to in the Apocalypse as ho thronos tou satana (the throne of Satan). Next door was the mind blowing gate of Milet, where St Paul the Apostle preached his last sermon as a free man, according to the Acts of the Apostles. So If you want to go to the NT world and cannot afford the Holy Land or Greece, than why not go to Berlin and the Pergamonmuseum?
