Dominic, I know I speak for many when I say that it is hoped that some form of Prof. Ellis' commentary will be published, even if finished by one of his trusted students or friends.

J. M. Givens Jr.

As a former research assistant to Dr. Ellis, I certainly have looked forward to the publication of his commentary. He was busy at work on it in even as he completed The Making of the NT Documents and Christ and the Future over a decade ago.

I would recommend one of Dr. Ellis's former students finalize the material already completed, and preferably use his class lectures and notes for the final chapters. Dr. Aaron Son, Dr. Randolph Richards, or Dr. David Capes would do a fine job.

K. T. Timmer

I am Dr. Ellis's former research assistant who worked with him on the manuscript for the first couple of chapters of 1 Corinthians (for his ICC commentary). His method of research was such that what he has worked on until he died is most likely (nearly) ready for publication.

I sincerely hope that T&T Clark editors and publishers honor Dr. Ellis by publishing his manuscript on 1 Corinthians.
